Just Breathe

Sabbatical. Yay! Yippee!

I get to read, write, take long walks, stay too long at the beach, plant a garden, play with my dog, watch movies with my daughter, learn new songs to sing, sleep late and daudle over breakfast, sit and stare at a wall if that's what I feel like doing, or take a trip and change my perspective.

My goal for the first month? Clean my garage. Thirty years worth of stuff is crammed into my garage. It is way past time to dig out from under it all and let about 90% of it go. Yep.

Of course, I am not gonna do it all at once, but little by little over several weeks with a lot of nothing in between.

That is because of my goal for the second month: road trip! I love to drive and I am taking my daughter with me up the west coast at least to the Canadian border, maybe even into British Columbia. We will stop at Episcopal churches and sing in their sanctuaries and take some pics and soak up the good prayer vibes.

I want to go to worship again like before I became the paid responsible one. Just be a voice in the pew. I want to watch some other people do their thing and learn some new stuff.

So I am excited about this. And I can't wait. The look of this new blog will probably change character as we go through this time together. What a great gift!

When we head out on the road we need to have mastered this blogging app because it is going to be really crazy trying to figure this out while trying to figure out where we are driving.

Sarah just got her passport in the mail and now we are all set to go to Canada if we make it that far. It is so wonderful to get to share this with all of you.

Time to reflect and to sort through the flotsam and jetsam of these last few years will really help me to focus on the present time.

And, anyway, fall is almost upon us.So buckle up for safety. This sabbatical promises to be a crazy ride.
